How to Maintain a Library
I've received multiple questions on the channel about how to maintain a library: how to build one, how to care for individual books, how to have a system, how to grow the aesthetics of your own library. After talking with some of my patrons, I found the inspiration to start a new series, How to Maintain a Library.
If you've followed for a while, you know I like to do series. Previously we looked at who the Puritans were, and before that at different books on prayer. This series isn't about book reviews, but about how to take care of those books.
What we'll cover
- How to build a library, and how to do it on a budget, keeping it under or right around $200.
- Sorting books on the shelf, and the different ways you can do that.
- Library systems. How do you know exactly what you have, and how do you share that with other people? It also helps later in life, when you begin to downsize or pass your books on to your children.
- Book care. How to care for clothbound, hardcover, leather-bound and paperback books; how to tell a sewn book from a glued one; and different ways to preserve your books and increase their life.
The first video, on how to build a library, follows in a couple of weeks.
Soli Deo Gloria!
