About Petra Publications
Hello and welcome! Here on Petra Publications, you can expect to find a wide array of resources and tools, from book reviews to journal articles to music, all from a Reformed Christian perspective.
We exist to invite, encourage, and challenge the Church to read, reflect, and contemplate.
The name Petra comes from Matthew 16:18: “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The term Publications comes from our desire to publish books, music, videos, and other resources.
Our motto is Strive for Excellence, Strive for Beauty, Strive for Christ. Everything ought to be done in excellence to the glory of God. Beauty was created objectively, to bring glory to God. And, above all, we are to strive for Christ.
Our logo uses the traditional Chi Rho symbol, from the Greek ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ, meaning Christ. The black and white logo represents the world's darkness, and Christ's light as He entered the world (John 3:19).
