Expository Apologetics by Voddie Baucham Jr. (1969–2025)
Voddie Baucham was raised by a single mother and only came to know Christ in his college years. His entire life-story is one of faith, perseverance, and God-following. Baucham holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christianity and Sociology from Houston Baptist University, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also did some post-graduate work at Oxford. Baucham has taken many controversial takes on contemporary issues such as homosexuality and critical race theory.
Though he cared much for Theology and correct views on controversy, his main focus was on his family. He and his wife Bridget have 9 children, and they have lived in Zambia since 2015. Baucham was a pastor, theologian, conference speaker, controversialist, author, husband, and father.
Description of the book
This book is a very helpful book in defining what apologetics are and giving direction in how to do them. Throughout the whole book, Baucham offers us so many helpful insights into how to defend our faith. He provides scenarios for us to imagine ourselves in and shows us, with the Bible, how to defend and share our faith. He builds his arguments straight from the Scripture and teaches the reader how to defend the faith by using the Scriptures. He exhorts the reader to know the Bible well, to memorize catechisms and creeds, and reminds the reader that keeping the faith to oneself, is not very Christian at all.
This book is extremely helpful in modern times. Often, Christians leave apologetics in the dust. They do not understand the importance of it; the fact that Christ and Paul themselves have commanded us to defend the faith. It must be done. In this book, the reader will find the encouragement needed to begin the process of learning how to defend the faith.
