All of the "All" Series by Herbert Lockyer
Someone recently asked in my livestream what the contents of Herbert Lockyer's "All" series are, so here's the "all of the All series." I think there are 17 of them, and I believe this is all of them. If I'm missing one, let me know!
The volumes
- All the Doctrines of the Bible. This one I'll speak most on. It's basically a systematic theology, 31 chapters, and probably the one you'd use most often.
- All the Messianic Prophecies of the Bible
- All the Last Words of Saints and Sinners. A really cool one. It isn't only people in the Bible, but people throughout history, Christians and also secular atheists.
- All the Children of the Bible
- All the Prayers of the Bible
- All the Promises of the Bible
- All the Women of the Bible
- All the Kings and Queens of the Bible
- All the Miracles of the Bible
- All the Men of the Bible. You can literally find anyone in here, even the really obscure names, with the Scripture reference and everything we know about them.
- All the Divine Names and Titles of the Bible
- All the Teachings of Jesus
- All the Books and Chapters of the Bible
- All the Trades and Occupations of the Bible
- All the Apostles of the Bible
- All the Parables of the Bible
How they work
Apart from All the Doctrines, these are reference books. They'd sit on your shelf and you'd hardly ever use them, but they're really handy when you need a specific thing. Everything is alphabetically sorted, mostly double-columned, with a table of contents, so they're easy to access and use. The volumes on people give each person's Scripture references, who they were, and what we know about them, which is very helpful if you're studying a specific person. I've used them for that purpose.
They're clothbound. (Two of mine got stuck together, maybe from water or something sticky, which messed up the boards, but those are the only two.)
One strange thing I noticed lining them up: they're all published by Zondervan except two, one from Kregel and one from Hendrickson, yet they all look identical. I'm not sure what's going on there!
Soli Deo Gloria!
